Moster University (Moster Inc. Sequel)

FINALLYYYY.......

After more-a-decade waiting, The Moster Inc 2 has been released!
The sequel named Monster University.

I had a chance watched it last thursday.
Of course, after years of waiting, i have a huge expectation about this sequel.
I mean, everyone my age had our own miraculous experience watched Monster Inc.
The movie was just so magical in its own way, spread belief of existing monster that crawl to our bed at midnight.
Of course, most of us are hardly believe the presence of monster, but i personally as a kid enjoyed that kinda feeling.
I mean, the kid innocence, wanted something that doesn't exist stuffs.

Anyway,
I entered theatre with all of those childhood feeling, couldn't stop smiling, wondering how this sequel will be going.

And....
The disappointed started to come up.
Too much expectations could kill you, for sure.
I expect the story after Sullivan and Wazowski take over the monster inc corp, expect another Boo with even cuter character.
But those don't exist.

The sequel is about what was happened to Sullivan and friends during college, which was bizzare.
The sequel seems like prequel to me, and not as funny as the previous one.
In fact, sometimes during the movie i had to force myself to laugh.
Many scenes weren't created as comical as they should be.
Sometimes, i got confused whether it was the time for laugh or not. -__-

On the other hand, the viewer segmentation isn't clear.
The movie tries really hard to embrace many viewer segments.
I understand that they are trying to make the movie as make sense as they can for kid these days, and still keeping up with what the older viewers expect from the sequel. But, i just didn't get it.
I felt like too much distraction scene after scene, and also felt like i had been forced to understand the plot, and that made me exhausted to keeping up with the movie.

Well, it was just how i felt personally during watched the sequel of Monster Inc, Monster University.
And i think viewer my age will understand how i feel after watching the movie. :)

And now, let's hope Finding Nemo sequel will be better than this one.
Or, less expectation may be enough. :)
